Placed in the center of an incredibly diverse and swiftly growing city, Enlace Tarango has the opportunity to reinvigorate the denizens of the city in a way previously unavailable to a large number of them. Breathing life into this currently dilapidated piece of land could revitalize the city, acting as a kidney that filters out the debris from surrounding lands and waters. Our design takes this theme to heart, the paths stretching out as though they were ar teries in a body to reach and positively impact the surrounding neighborhoods. With ponds and wetlands stretching across, our site collects and filters out water so that it can be repurposed elsewhere. The terrain is mainly driven by the winding waterways that cascade down the slope, and the arterial paths that connect to the outside neighborhoods. From there, zones were picked based on the opportunities the topography and geographical assets the land provided. From a wetlands ripe for swimming and play to a botanical garden with a diverse palette of plants, there’s something here for everybody.
